About me
My name is Sarah Bowen and I am based in Surrey, England. I have many years' experience of interpreting British Sign Language/English and now more recently of translating Icelandic and Norwegian to English. I have visited Iceland and Norway for study purposes on many occasions and lived in Reykjavik for a year, from 2007/08. I have a 1st class BA(Hons) in Icelandic from University College London and where I also took Norwegian to degree level.
My passion for languages began in school and this led me to take a degree in Linguistics. After taking a break to bring up my family, I began to fulfil my desire to work with languages and trained as a British Sign Language Interpreter. This career has been rewarding and I have since had the opportunity to further my training and move into translation work. Both require confidentiality and a high degree of discretion. I now bring the same enthusiasm and professionalism to my translation work as I do to my interpreting and will bring the same level of dedication to your work.
